Helping Idaho Youth Connect With The Trades

What is the Teens 2 Trades Program?

Teens 2 Trades is on a mission to connect Idaho’s youth with trade companies within our state.

These trades include plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and welding. In collaboration with the College of Western Idaho and in alignment with the Idaho Launch Initiative, Teen’s to Trades extends its support by providing scholarships and a well-defined career pathway within the trades. Idaho Launch, a new grant program, offers students an exceptional opportunity, covering 80% of their tuition and fees at eligible educational institutions. Once selected for a Teen’s to Trades Scholarship, each student will receive a $5,000 grant that can be used for books, travel, supplies, or any other expenses to enhance their college experience.

If they are not approved for the Idaho Launch Program, this money can be applied towards their tuition. Each student will also be a part of a curated cohort, where they will be paired with a mentor in their chosen industry. They will have the opportunity to attend events designed to enhance their soft skills and networking abilities, receiving continuous support throughout their journey, from graduation into the workplace. Teen’s to Trades serves as the career jumpstart that many underserved and under-resourced youth need.
